i reserved tickets to today's daily show taping, and today i got an email from the staff saying that if i couldn't make it to the show and didn't cancel the tickets, i'd be "blocked" from future tapings. so since i couldn't go, naturally found my original email and cancelled them just fine, but i had absolutely no warning of this and i'm just lucky i was online. my question is, is it the same for colbert? i've reserved tickets for a taping or two in the past and not been able to go, if i remember correctly i didn't get around to cancelling them, though i never got an email like that. i was just wondering what your experiences were? i'll finally be able to go to a taping in a couple weeks, so please tell me i'm just being paranoid! tds has sucessfully scared the crap out of me.

Why everyone should read this:
This is another post-HBP fic that takes place in the same time period as "Around the Twist." Harry is off hunting Horcruxes, and Ginny is helping Fred and George at their shop and feeling frustrated.
You may be familiar with Emmilyne's writing; one of her other stories was a RonHermione rec for this month, and her long (and now abandoned I think) WIP "Of Hearts and Heroes" is quite popular. Her style is richly detailed, and she is skilled at describing nuances of emotion and action. This fic highlights the very best of her writing; the anger and tension (sexual and otherwise) between Harry and Ginny is palpable, but the tenderness and caring are there too. The alternating points of view from chapter to chapter are well done, and the ending is creative and brilliant. I promised plenty of smut this month, and this fic has it in spades; this is definitely not your vanilla "first time" fic.

Well, since we've had to do some aggressive moderation as of late, it's time for those of us running fanthropology to bring up a subject that was going to come up in the next few weeks anyway.
We're trying to figure out what to do with it.
Those of us running it are quite busy with various things in and out of fandom - in short, we're not sure we have the time, energy, and inclination to keep running it. In addition, after the various issues with LJ, LJ administration, changing hands, etc. it seemed LJ lost contributors and may not be the best place to run something like this.
So, this post is screened. You can make suggestions here for what you honestly think would be a good idea for doing with/do/for fanthropology.
A few that have come across from private discussions:
1) Just end it. A lot is passed.
2) Freeze it for history's sake.
3) Turn it over to a known group.
4) Do it as a blog that collects links ON the subject only, and take what's submitted.
5) Do it as a blog that takes screened submissions that focus on analysis.
6) Turn it over to any particular individual.
Feel free to suggest any other ideas!
