A (somewhat) brief description of this school:

-It goes 6-12 grade, with 436 students. There are 66 in the graduating class.
-Non-denominational Christian school. (Note: On the Protestant end of Christianity, not the Catholic)
-Students are required to attend a 50-minute long chapel every Wednesday.
-Teachers are required to shake their students' hands before they enter the classroom.
-Every morning the school not only pledges allegiance to the American flag, but also to the Christian flag and the Bible. The principal also leads everyone in morning prayer.
-Teachers usually begin class with prayer.
-There are literally Bible verses painted on the walls in the hallways.
-Students can get suspended or expelled for: getting tattoos/facial piercings, having sex/getting pregnant, drinking, smoking (even if the student > 17), doing drugs, and/or inappropriate content on a student's personal web page.
-At least once a year there is an argument as to whether or not a person can be both a Christian and a Democrat (in all seriousness -- people have said they are mutually exclusive)
-Contains disproportionally white student and administrative bodies. (92% of the senior class is white / 90% of the administrative body (including janitorial staff) is white)
-Contains teachers who are not only less than timid about their political views, but also are encouraged by the administration to share them in the classroom

This being said, I do genuinely enjoy being at my school -- but that doesn’t mean that I can’t make fun of it. And that's what this journal will be about.
